Three Questions to Ask if You are Keeping Something Because You Might Need in the Future

If you're trying to create more space in your home and you encounter some things that you haven't used in a long time, but you think that perhaps you might need them in the future, ask yourself these three questions:

  1.  If I do need that in the future, do I need that exact one or could I borrow one from a friend?

  2. If I truly need that in the future, could I just rent it? Do I have to own it and store it and deal with it and use this precious space for it when I really need this space for something else?

  3. If I actually need it in the future, how far in the future is that going to be? And am I going to regret not using this space for what I really need right now?
