Three things I Love about Organizing Homes When it is Pouring down Rain

There’s something uniquely comforting about organizing during a heavy rainstorm, especially when the forecast predicts it’ll last for days. Here are three things I absolutely love about it:

1. Decluttering and Organizing Garages

Because guests & relatives don’t always see garages, they often become a drop zone and frequently are too full for cars. But if the garage is organized, it is usually easier for the whole house to be organized. And if the garage is organized, you can park in there. Which is especially important on rainy days! So,rain often pushes garage organizing up on the list of organizing priorities. And after we have organized their garage, our clients can simply use their remote to drive right in, thanks to the space we’ve created for their car. No more struggling with parking outside in the rain or maneuvering around clutter. It's a small but significant change that makes coming home a little more pleasant, especially in stormy weather.

2. Welcoming the Much-Needed Rain

Rain is a blessing, especially for our farmers and gardeners who desperately need it. Every drop is a gift, nourishing the earth and helping crops and plants thrive. So, while we’re indoors organizing and decluttering, I can’t help but feel grateful for the rain outside. It’s a reminder of the natural cycles and the support our environment needs.

3. Rainy Days, Ponytails, and Organizing Homes

There’s a special vibe to rainy days that just fits perfectly with organizing. With the rain pattering against the windows, it feels cozy and serene inside. Plus, it’s the perfect excuse for a casual ponytail and getting down to the nitty-gritty of organizing homes. There’s something about the combination of a rainy day and a productive organizing session that feels just right.

So, next time you find yourself facing a few days of heavy rain, consider it an opportunity. An opportunity to create order and to appreciate the much-needed rain. Or an opportunity to have my team organize your garage for you so you can use that garage and stay dry!
