Bittersweet Organizing
Today is kind of bittersweet. We are finishing one whole house organizing project, and we're starting another one. A whole house organizing project is a big deal; it's up to 120 HOURS of organizing for clients, and it includes everything - shopping for products, donation management, consignment, collaborating with your builder, cabinet maker, realtor, etc. It's organizing the whole house top to bottom.
So we really get to know our clients and their inventory and their preferences and their needs and their stressors and their joys. We transform their house for them. It's really a wonderful project to do, because it's usually for folks who either are super busy, like business professionals, or families with lots of activities They would rather do what only they can do and have us organize their homes.
Oftentimes whole house package clients are folks who have had a lot of transition in their lives. They have had a death in the family, a birth in the family, they're moving, they've had some illness, etc. And sometimes they have been kind of stuck, not able to manage what they’re go through. So they need some skilled, compassionate help. They need us to organize through layers, which can be overwhelming if you’re tryin gto do it alone. But is can be transformative with the right kind of help. It is work that requires our experience and compassion and it is work we love to do.
And in the process we fall in love with clients because we've helped them so much (and acts of service is our love language). We get so acquainted with them so it's kind of bittersweet when we finish. Fortunately, some clients decide that they want us to come back once a week or once a month once a quarter and refresh the space for them. They say "we will miss you!” and “We would rather you maintain this.!" So they do maintenance packages and we get to see them more regularly, which is lovely.
And for others, we've changed their lives by teaching them how to organize their homes. They thank us for coaching us we work so they know how to maintain their homes. They thank you for our product recommendations and getting everything contained and labeled and setting up systems and teaching their kids how to organize and helping their partner let go of stuff he or she has had for 50 years. And that is very wonderful too.
So, it’s bittersweet but oh so important. And exciting because we're starting another whole house package this afternoon. And if organizing your whole house doesn’t sound exciting to you and you need help give me a call, I can help you.
