Organizing with Heart and Understanding

I’ve always believed that organizing is more than just tidying up; it’s about understanding and embracing the unique ways people live and thrive in their spaces. My love for organizing started long before I even knew it could be a career, and I owe much of that to my sister.

She’s the kind of person who’s full of life, always diving into new hobbies and telling the most captivating stories. She’s a burst of energy, always moving, always curious, and always onto the next exciting thing. And yes, she’s self-diagnosed with ADD, a trait that brings both challenges and charm to her world.

As a kid, I was mesmerized by her. She’s several years older than me, and I remember watching her with awe as she navigated her teenage years. Her room was a whirlwind of clothes, books, and projects—a true “floordrobe” if you will. And there I was, the little sister, happily picking up her clothes, straightening hangers in her closet, and slipping bookmarks into her books. I wasn’t just tidying up; I was soaking in her vibrant energy, feeling privileged just to be in her orbit.

My mom, years later, would laugh and say that my sister could walk into a room that looked like a tornado had hit it and emerge looking like a model. That was when I first started to realize that not everyone’s mind works the same way when it comes to organization—and that’s perfectly okay.

Some people function just fine with a floordrobe. They’re successful in their careers, they have rich social lives, and their creative energy isn’t hindered by a bit of chaos. But sometimes, even the most vibrant spirits need a little help to bring harmony to their spaces, and that’s where I come in.

I’m incredibly grateful for the diverse personalities of my friends and family who’ve allowed me to help them over the years. They’ve taught me that it’s okay if you’re not someone who thrives on micro-organizing. If that’s not how your brain works, if it doesn’t suit your personality or lifestyle, it’s okay. There’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to organization.
