Reviewing your New Year's Resolutions by Pinky Jackson, Professional Organizer
This is the week that I start my new year in earnest, for a couple of reasons. One is that my family celebrates all 12 days of Christmas, culminating the season with an Epiphany Party. So, it is mid-January when we clean it all up, reorganize the holiday decor, and make notes about what we may want to change for next year’s celebrations.
The other is that my birthday is in a couple of weeks, and I like to set my goals for my new year in a more personal way. As a professional organizer, I find this timing helps me guide my clients in reviewing any resolutions they may have made on January 1. What have you made progress on? What obstacles have you encountered? What have you not yet started? Just like the need to edit our belongings, we often need to edit our commitments. So, take some time this week to do that objective observing again (see my January 1, 2019 blog post.) Be gentle with yourself as you assess your progress, and contact me if you need help.
