What a YEAR!

It’s New Year’s Eve as I write this, and as is our tradition, I am in my pj’s and my husband is picking up Thai takeout. We will enjoy a quiet evening at home, watch the ball drop in Times Square, and discuss our vision for the new year. But before we do that, I want to say goodbye to the old year and HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all . Thank you, 2022 and all the people who were part of another year of organizing homes and changing the lives of our clients so they could change the lives of their clients, their families, their friends.

Thank you, 2022 for the HUGE variety of clients! We got to help busy professionals who moved into BIG, BEAUTIFUL houses get them organized and ready for entertaining and living their best lives. We got to help senior citizens organize their homes so they could age in place and help others downsize and move to more manageable spaces. We got to take tearful calls from people overwhelmed with clutter, assure them there would be NO JUDGEMENT and then organize their homes while treating them with compassion and respect and working with efficiency and joy.

We added amazing new team members so we could help more people sooner and offer additional services. And while some team members took care of clients, other team members helped move our Louisville office to a new location, the Gratefully Giving (our charitable initiative) garage to its new spot, and my family to our sweet new home in rural Spencer County, Kentucky.

We exceeded our community service goals by helping more nonprofits and families in need, we had fun and educational team gatherings - in which we all learned so much more about each other, the gifts we each bring to our clients and the support we are for each other. And, if I didn’t already know how incredible these organizers were, they held the fort down while I researched options for organizing in Austin, TX and visited with 31 of my 60 favorite Texans. (Yes, we have 60 sisters, brothers, nephews and nieces in the Lone Star State, and 2022 was the first time in 3 years that we were able to visit.)

And yes, COVID and moving and caring for loved ones here were some of the struggles we faced in 2022. But I have no interest in “nursing or rehearsing” those challenges. I simply want to thank 2022 for all that it brought and all that it will take with it when it leaves. CHEERS to you and 2023!!!
